COVID-19 Cases are Rising in Some States Amid Summer Wave

 

In its latest report, the CDC said the number of COVID-19 cases is now growing or likely growing in at least 26 states and Washington, D.C. COVID-related emergency room visits for young kids are also the highest they've been since March.

Georgia Emergency Management Agency Offers Heat Safety Tips

 

Here are some helpful heat safety tips:

  • Stay indoors as much as possible and limit exposure to the sun.
  • Drink plenty of fluids and replace salts and minerals in your body. 
  • Limit intake of alcoholic beverages.
  • Dress in loose-fitting, lightweight, and light-colored clothes that cover as much skin as possible. Protect face and head by wearing a wide-brimmed hat.

Fort Benning Joins Local Partners in Supporting Chattahoochee Valley Disaster Resilience

 

Fort Benning, along with local, state, and federal partners from the Chattahoochee Valley, gathered at the Columbus Georgia Convention & Trade Center for the Disaster Resilience Across the Chattahoochee Valley Conference. The event aimed to bring together community leaders and emergency response personnel to address disaster preparedness and response for the region.

Over 67,000 Cases of Popular Deodorant Recalled Nationwide

 

More than 67,000 cases of deodorant have been recalled at the peak of summer. Manufacturer A.P. Deauville and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced the recall, which affects three varieties of Power Stick deodorant, in an enforcement report published by the agency earlier this month. The products were distributed nationwide to Walmart and Dollar Tree stores and sold on Amazon.

BD Issues Update to Voluntary Global Recall of Alaris and BD Alaris Pump Modules Serviced with Legacy Bezel Kit Assemblies

 

Becton, Dickinson and Company (BD) issued a voluntary recall related to certain Alaris™ and BD Alaris™ Pump Modules that may have been serviced with previously recalled bezel kit assemblies. BD is issuing this voluntary recall notice to reiterate that certain bezel kit assemblies that were manufactured between April 2011 and June 2017 and previously recalled in 2019 should not be used for service with the Alaris™ and BD Alaris™ Pump Module.

Violent Actors and Cyber Criminals Threaten Emergency Services Sector

The Office of Intelligence and Analysis sent an assessment of threats to the Emergency Services Sector— police, firefighters, and other first responders— from violent extremists, other physical threat actors, or malicious cyber actors.
