2026 Emergency Management Summit and Training Session

 

Georgia’s Healthcare Coalitions sponsored over 100 attendees at the 2026 Emergency Management Summit and Training Sessions on Jekyll Island last week. They joined nearly 700 emergency management professionals from across the state and beyond, spending the week engaging with peers, sharing ideas, and gaining valuable insights from sessions and discussions. The sponsored attendees were tasked with sharing the knowledge they gained at the Summit with their respective coalitions to continue the conversations locally.

Measles Detection in Wastewater

 

The Georgia Department of Health (DPH) is alerting healthcare providers to the detection of measles found in sewage samples through routine wastewater testing. The positive samples were collected on March 29 from a wastewater treatment plant in the South Metro Atlanta Area.

Medetomidine in the U.S. Illegal Fentanyl Supply Increasing Risk for Overdose and Severe Withdrawal Syndrome

 

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), in conjunction with the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP), issued a Health Advisory to notify public health professionals, clinicians, laboratorians, and people at risk for overdose about increasing reports from U.S. jurisdictions detecting medetomidine in the illegal drug supply and a severe withdrawal syndrome due to medetomidine exposure. 

CENTEGIX® Research Shares New Insights for Healthcare Safety and Security Leaders

 

CENTEGIX released its 2026 Healthcare Workforce Safety Report, a survey of 639 healthcare workers that delivers important insights and perspectives for safety and security leaders within healthcare organizations. The survey, conducted in January 2026, included healthcare workers who interact with patients, family members, or visitors at least once per week in a healthcare facility.

Blueroot Health Issues Voluntary Allergy Alert on Undeclared Egg, Hazelnut, and Soy in Vital Nutrients Aller-C Dietary Supplements

 

Blueroot Health is voluntarily recalling two lots of Vital Nutrients Aller-C dietary supplements due to the potential to contain undeclared egg, hazelnut, and soy. People who have allergies and/or severe sensitivity to egg, hazelnut, and soy run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product. Aller-C was distributed nationwide by VitalNutrients.co and other online retailers.

Aphreseller Issues Voluntary Nationwide Recall of Kian Pee Wan Capsules

 

Aphreseller is recalling all lots of Kian Pee Wan capsules to the consumer level. FDA analysis has found that the product contains the undeclared drug ingredients dexamethasone and cyproheptadine. Products containing dexamethasone and cyproheptadine cannot be marketed as dietary supplements.
