The Regional Disaster Health Response System (RDHRS) is conducting a survey to inform the needs for radiation emergency response support across the region. The goal is to identify the challenges, key functions, and capabilities required to successfully support a regional response to a nuclear or radiological emergency. 

Attacks on Water Supply: Cybercriminals Target at Least Two Georgia Systems

 

Federal authorities are investigating cyberattacks targeting water utility systems across multiple states. Two confirmed incidents occurred in Georgia prompting concerns from customers. The Clayton County Water Authority confirmed on Aug. 4 that hackers targeted its system last week. 

Liebel-Flarsheim Company, LLC Issues Recall of OPTIRAY Imaging Bulk Package

 

Liebel-Flarsheim Company, LLC is recalling one lot of OPTIRAY Imaging Bulk Package (IBP) 350, 500mL in vial, (Ioversol Injection 74% 350 mg iodine/ml) for intra-arterial or intra-venous use to the user level due to the presence of particulate matter comprising polyethylene and other plastic materials, stainless steel and glass. 

BD Issues Nationwide Recall for Specific Lots of BD® Intraosseous Vascular Access System Needle Sets

 

Becton, Dickinson and Company (BD) is voluntarily recalling specific lots of BD® Intraosseous Vascular Access System Needle Sets to the user level. These products are being recalled following reports that some users experienced difficulty removing the obturator (stylet) after placement of the needle set.

529 Commerce LLC Recalls Rooted in Rare Brand Aquafaba Powder Due to Undeclared Eggs

 

529 Commerce, LLC is recalling 3,860 units of its 4oz and 12 oz packages of its Rooted in Rare brand Aquafaba Powder because the product may contain undeclared egg. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to egg run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume these products. 

Publix Recalls All Lots of GreenWise Organic Frozen Blueberries and Whole Mixed Berries

 

Publix is recalling all lots of GreenWise Organic Whole Blueberries and Whole Mixed Berries because they may be contaminated with Escherichia coli O145:H28 (E. coli O145). E. coli O145 is a Shiga toxin-producing E. coli (STEC) that can cause illness characterized by severe stomach cramps, diarrhea, and vomiting. 

Boticelli Foods Recalls Bettergoods Pistachio Nut Butter Because of Possible Health Risk

 

Boticelli Foods is recalling 1 lot of Bettergoods Pistachio Nut Butter, Net Wt. 6.7oz (190g), UPC 194346207961, Lot LB028ACP04, because it has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.

Identify, Isolate and Inform: It is important to continue to ask travel questions. The purpose of this notice is to remind healthcare providers about actions to take in Georgia when evaluating patients for possible serious communicable diseases.
