Rabies Alerts Issued in Chatham, Liberty Counties

 

The Chatham and Liberty County Health Departments are both issuing rabies alerts after two wild animals tested positive for rabies. In Chatham County, a dog discovered a bat inside a residence in the Bonaventure Road area. In Liberty County, a resident contacted the health department after noticing a raccoon behaving strangely in the Lake Georgia area of Midway. The bat and the raccoon both tested positive for rabies on June 23.

Healthcare Leaders Face Cybersecurity Blind Spots Despite Vendor Confidence

 

Healthcare leaders express significant confidence in their technology vendors' cybersecurity measures, yet a substantial majority of practices have experienced operational disruptions due to third-party failures. A new report from Omega Systems highlights a critical visibility gap in the healthcare digital supply chain. While 70% of healthcare leaders trust their vendors' security, 85% of practices have suffered disruptions from vendor breaches in the past year.

As Ebola Cases Hit 1,000, Almost 3 Million Children and Adolescents Face Rising Risks in Eastern DR Congo

 

Although the situation remains fluid, children and adolescents account for approximately 15% of confirmed Ebola cases and over 25% of confirmed deaths in eastern DRC as of June 19. Children and adolescents with confirmed Ebola are almost twice as likely to die as adults, highlighting the disproportionate impact of the outbreak on younger populations.

MorningStar Farms Voluntarily Recalling Two Varieties Due to Possible Plastic Presence

 

MorningStar Farms is voluntarily recalling two varieties of products in the United States (U.S.), Puerto Rico and Costa Rica because of possible plastic pieces in the food. Recalled varieties are MorningStar Farms Buffalo Chik’n Nuggets (10.5 oz) and MorningStar Farms Hot & Spicy Sausage Patties (8 oz). No other MorningStar Farms brand products are affected by the recall.
