Hospital Net

Next month's hospital net will be Sunday, May 3. The purpose of the net is to determine the operational capability of each of the hospitals.

 

Please respond accordingly.

  1. The DSTAR Net will begin at 1430 on Reflector (003A). 

  2. The HF Net will start with the Primary 40M frequency (7.282.5 LSB) around @1505; after the DSTAR net ends.  If that doesn’t work, at 1510 shift to the Secondary 40M frequency (7.188 LSB). Announcements will be made on DSTAR Reflector 003A. 

  3. Digital Net: Please send ONE (1) IC-213 via ARDOP, VARA or Packet to Alan Slutsky “KA4FJV” from each facility.

CDC Warns of Drug-Resistant Salmonella Infections Linked to Backyard Poultry

 

At least 34 people in 13 states have been sickened with salmonella poisoning traced to contact with backyard poultry, including some with infections resistant to common antibiotics, federal health officials said.

But they already know at least one thing they would do differently and one lesson they will share with other states.

Symptom-Based Approach Treats Opioid Withdrawal in Newborns with Minimal Drug Exposure

 

A National Institutes of Health (NIH)-funded clinical study shows that a symptom-based treatment for babies with neonatal opioid withdrawal syndrome (NOWS), a highly prevalent condition wherein opioid exposure during pregnancy leads to withdrawal after birth, could speed up their recovery.

B. Braun Medical, Inc. Issues Voluntary Nationwide Recall of Lactated Ringer’s Injection

 

B. Braun Medical Inc. is voluntarily recalling two lots of Lactated Ringer’s Injection, E7500, 1L, to the hospital/healthcare facility level. The product has been found to have particulate matter in solution. In the complaint investigations the particles were identified as cellulose and stearates with extremely low levels of inorganic materials such as copper.

Ghirardelli Chocolate Company Recalls Powdered Beverage Mixes Because of Possible Health Risk

 

Ghirardelli Chocolate Company is voluntarily recalling certain powdered beverage mixes because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. This action follows a California Dairies, Inc. milk powder recall due to a concern of potential Salmonella contamination, which was supplied to a third-party manufacturer and used as an ingredient in powdered beverage mixes.

French Broad Chocolates PBC Recalls Bette’s Bake Sale Bonbons Due to Undeclared Walnuts

 

French Broad Chocolates PBC is recalling Bette’s Bake Sale Bonbon Collection in 6pc, 12pc, and 24pc boxes with batch numbers 260414 and 260417 due to the potential to contain undeclared walnuts. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to walnuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.
