Five More Measles Cases Reported as S.C. Outbreak Nears 1,000

 

On March 3, the South Carolina Department of Public Health reported five new cases of measles in the state since Feb. 27. It’s the third consecutive single-digit increase in cases that are part of the South Carolina outbreak. The total number of cases in South Carolina’s outbreak has now reached 990, with 52 people now in quarantine and four in isolation.

Georgia Senate Leaders Push $409M Plan for New State Mental Health Hospital

 

Georgia lawmakers are pushing for changes to how the state handles mental health. The Georgia Senate included $409 million in its amended budget to build a new, 300-bed state mental health hospital. The facility would be designed to treat people with severe mental illness who may currently be stuck in county jails.

People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to wheat or soy run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the honey BBQ sauce-mustard. This product was shipped nationwide to distribution centers, retail stores, and consumers between 7/30/2025 and 2/26/2026.

Saputo USA Recalls Great Value Cottage Cheese Because of Possible Health Risk

 

Saputo Cheese USA Inc. is voluntarily recalling select cottage cheese products produced by SUSA due to the possibility of liquid dairy ingredients used in the items not being fully pasteurized according to state regulatory standards. While no illnesses or hospitalizations associated with the recalled products have been reported to date, consuming products that are not fully pasteurized can pose a significant health risk, especially to the young and elderly or immunocompromised individuals.

The Travel Clinical Assistant provides post-travel clinical information on travel-related diseases for 231 countries. Diseases with recent outbreaks occurring in the last two years are listed first.
