Covid

New Covid Variant Identified and Spreading in 25 States

A new Covid variant is spreading across the U.S., and it may be able to evade protection from current vaccines. The variant, known as BA.3.2, has been detected in nasal swabs taken from four American travelers and clinical samples from five patients in four unidentified states. It’s also been found in three airplane wastewater samples and 132 wastewater samples taken in more than 20 states, suggesting that its reach is actually far more widespread than what scientists see right now.

There have been 14 new outbreaks reported in 2026, and 94% of confirmed cases (1,398 of 1,487) are outbreak-associated (323 from outbreaks starting in 2026 and 1,075 from outbreaks that started in 2025).

Healthcare Cybersecurity Market Analysis, Key Drivers & Future Scope 2030

The healthcare cybersecurity market has gained significant traction in recent years due to the rapid digitization of healthcare systems, including electronic health records (EHRs), telemedicine platforms, and connected medical devices. As healthcare organizations increasingly rely on digital infrastructure, the volume of sensitive patient data being generated and stored has surged, making the sector a prime target for cyberattacks.

Amneal Pharmaceuticals LLC Issues Voluntary Nationwide Recall of Magnesium Sulfate in Water for Injection

Amneal Pharmaceuticals LLC is voluntarily recalling one lot of Magnesium Sulfate in Water for Injection, USP, 4g/100mL, IV bag, to the hospital level. A Magnesium Sulfate in Water for Injection pouch was found to contain an IV bag of Tranexamic Acid in 0.7% Sodium Chloride Injection, 10 mg/mL. There is a reasonable probability that a delay in receiving magnesium therapy could result in life-threatening or long-term morbidity in pregnant individuals with preeclampsia or eclampsia due to the potential to develop seizures.

Cardinal Health Issues Voluntary Nationwide Recall of Webcol™ Large Alcohol Prep Pad

Cardinal Health has issued a voluntary recall for select lots of Webcol™ Large Alcohol Prep Pads (70% isopropyl alcohol) to the consumer level. The product is being recalled due to microbial contamination identified as Paenibacillus phoenicis. There is a reasonable probability that use of the contaminated pads may result in local and systemic infections in at-risk populations.
