Health Alert: Confirmed Case of Measles

 

The Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) has confirmed a case of measles in a resident of the Coastal Health District. DPH worked with the healthcare facility this individual visited while infectious to identify any individuals who may have been exposed. The index patient was unvaccinated against measles and acquired the virus while traveling internationally. This is the first reported measles case in Georgia in 2026. There were 10 
confirmed measles cases in Georgia in 2025.

Georgia Sees a Significant Uptick in Cases this Flu Season. Why is Everyone Getting Sick?

 

Georgia flu hospitalizations from the week ending January 3 are down 18 percent, but the year-to-year numbers went up a significant amount. Last year at this time, Georgia had zero deaths, 169 hospitalizations, and two major outbreaks related to the flu. This year, hospitalizations rose nearly 55 percent, and flu outbreaks rose by 500 percent.

HerbsForever LLC Issues Allergy Alert on Undeclared Wheat in HerbsForever Brand Dietary Supplements

 

HerbsForever LLC is recalling 45 units of the product “Hingwastik Churna” and 45 units of “Gastro Care” dietary supplements because they may contain undeclared wheat. People who have a wheat allergy run a risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume product with wheat. The products were distributed nationwide via mail order.

123Herbals LLC Issues Nationwide Recall of Silintan Capsules Due to the Presence of Undeclared Meloxicam

 

123herbals LLC is voluntarily recalling all lots of Silintan capsules to the consumer level. FDA analysis has found the product to be tainted with meloxicam. Meloxicam is an approved Nonsteroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug, (NSAID) indicated for management of osteoarthritis pain. Products containing meloxicam cannot be marketed as dietary supplements. 

Modern Warrior Recalls “Modern Warrior Ready” Dietary Supplement 

 

Modern Warrior is voluntarily recalling all lots of Modern Warrior Ready, a dietary supplement sold directly to consumers, after regulatory testing identified the presence of undeclared ingredients, including tianeptine, 1,4-DMAA, and aniracetam. Tianeptine can cause life-threatening events including suicidal ideation or behavior in children, adolescents, and adults aged 25 years and younger.
